Pins & Needle is an active group of crafting individuals and teachers focusing on textile makers for women through skills development and training. Thus, by empowering the women through economic independence and self employment and training on life skills the organization has benefited over 250 women. Their programs focus on creative and initiative’s development and give participants the ability to design artistic products such as jewelry, toys and items from recycled materials.
A founding member of our team, Shalini is responsible for the program’s financial aspect along with operations and also sponsors more than 20 young ladies. She has the power of spices – organization drive and curiosity is a silent character builder for her team.
Nandini mainly works on felting and stitching, as many as thirty women participate in the program and the trainer works on their raw materials at home, helps women cope with simple problems encountered in their daily life.
The creative spirit of our team, Deepika encourages 10 girls to create things using fabrics such as gota out of which even the simplest ones can look like miracles.
Certified by the government as an artisan and a master coach, Maya leads the endeavor with the intent to produce professional handloom weaver & artisans. Apart from training women in the craft skills, she catalyses them into become role model mentors and leaders.
Elegant embroiderers and creative minds Pragyan and Anusuya teach women how to embroider through online and offline workshop and support Android platform related creative revival.
Altogether, these women coordinate skill development and, along with their outstanding artistry, spearhead public and government projects that constitute the raison d’être of the art of empowering women.
